Sudarsan Pattnaik, a professional sand artist from India, has put his thoughts into a tribute sculpture “Humanity washed ashore. Shame shame shame…”, which he created on Puri beach, Bhubaneswar, India.
Through his impressive works, Pattnaik tries to bring public attention to the world’s issues.

According to police reports, Aylan’s family was making an attempt to flee the Syrian city of Kobani, when their boat capsized. The bodies of his brother, Galip, and mother were also found on the shore.
An image of the sculpture has recently been posted by Pattnaik to his Facebook page, reading “#HumanityWashedAshore My Homage to the Syrian boy #AylanKurdi through my sand sculpture at Puri beach, in Odisha, India.”
