Indian Sand Artist Creates A Symbolic Tribute To A Drowned Syrian Toddler

The tragic death of a Syrian toddler and two members of his family, that took place on the 2nd of September off the Turkish coast has found reflection in the works of a great number of artists around the world. Particularly, artistic interpretations of a shocking photo of the passed 3-year-old Aylan Kurdi lying breathlessly on the shore have been emerging in numbers since.

Sudarsan Pattnaik, a professional sand artist from India, has put his thoughts into a tribute sculpture “Humanity washed ashore. Shame shame shame…”, which he created on Puri beach, Bhubaneswar, India.

Through his impressive works, Pattnaik tries to bring public attention to the world’s issues.
