How Native Doctor Sells A Week Old Baby For N300, 000


At Iyanapaja, the Nigerian police arrested a trado-medical doctor for allegedly selling a week-old baby to a couple for N300, 000.

According to Punch, the native doctor who was identified as Mr. Olawale Onalaja sold the baby to Dele and Oluwakemi Ayangbile, who have also been arrested by the police, allegedly paid that amount to the native doctor before taking the baby to their apartment, in Mile 12 area of Lagos.

It was reported that the mother of the baby, 29-year old Idiat Babatunde was preparing for her convocation when she delivered her baby on Saturday, September 5.
However, after the delivery Idiat who had a misunderstanding with her husband, Akinola Babatunde had taken the baby to the native doctor who she disclosed to be a family friend while on her way to school, on September 13, and requested that he kept the baby for her.
It was further disclosed that, the native doctor who lives in Ikola, Odunsi Street, Iyanapaja, invited the Ayangbiles and sold the baby to them for N300, 000.
However, when Idiat returned from school, the native doctor lied to that the baby was in custody of a government-owned orphanage where he would be properly taken care of.

After the babies had been in custody of the couples for three days at their rented apartment, their suspicious landlord was said to have reported the matter at Ketu Police Division.
