A suspected Boko Haram member, Abdullahi Adamu, has been arrested in Ijora area of Lagos.
The Nation reports that Adamu was nabbed by Operation Mesa (OP Mesa) security operatives in Ijora, Lagos after they got a tip-off from observant residents of the area.
Acting on the tip-off, the security operatives raided the Ijora 7-Up area of Lagos when they were informed about the activities of a terror network allegedly organised by Iranians. During the raid, soldiers were said to have thoroughly checked one of the buildings in the area. Adamu was arrested with a box full of explosives and AK47 rifles all stacked up in the ceiling of the house.
Commenting on the arrest, the paramount ruler of Ijora community, Oba Fatai Ojora said:
“We have been calling on the state government to do something about this. This is the second time we will arrest Boko Haram suspects in this community and nothing has been done on that. The one we caught now had even admitted that he is a terrorist. You know that majority of the northerners in Lagos live in Ijora, Agege and Badia.’’he said.
