On Saturday, September 26, Nigerian film-makers who were nominated at the just concluded Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), which took place in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, turned out to be the biggest winners of the night.

Popular Nollywood actor and film-maker, Kunle Afolayan with his other colleagues win big at the 11th edition of the Award ceremony. Other Nollywood stars who made Nigeria proud are Hilda Dokubo and Kemi Lala Akindoju.

Best Production design: iNumber Number – South Africa
Best Make-Up Njinga: Queen of Angola – Angola
Best soundtrack: Triangle Going to America – Ethiopia
Best visual effects: iNumber Number – South Africa
Best Sound: Lobraz Khan – Mauritius
Best Cinematography: Lobraz Khan – Mauritius
Best Editing: Timbuktu
Best Screen Play: Le President
In addition, Africa Magic and Kingsley Ogoro were both awarded Special Recognition by AMAA organisers, Lifetime Achievement Award was taken by Tony Vander Heyden and Subsequent Award was given on late Oronto Douglas, a top aide of former Nigeria president, Goodluck Jonathan.
It could be recalled earlier this year, Kunle Afolayan’s movie October 1 at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), held in Lagos.
